First Letter From Elder Skinner

Wow. I can't believe I'm in Brazil now! To be honest, I feel so lost! I'm sure once I get a few days in, I'll get used to everything haha. Well, I kind of got a little lost so I don't have a whole lot of time, so I'll just email to you kind of quick and write what random thoughts come in my head. Sao Paulo is so big! Traffic is really crazy and when motorcyclists ride by, the constantly honk their horn because they drive between lanes. I have to be honest, I'm kind of nervous. I do my best and tell myself that this is where I have to be, but I miss you guys a bunch. It's so surreal. Like, I keep thinking that I'm gonna come back home any day now, but it'll be some time before that happens. Portuguese is a little overwhelming from the couple of hours I've heard people talk back and forth. I got my name tag too! I guess it's really official. I ate on the plane, but really slowly because I was so nervous. I slept for maybe an hour or so but the flight flew by fast because I was in deep thought. Oh yeah! My MTC companion. I actually don't have him right now so that's why I was lost.. His name is Elder Mochaki and he's from South Africa. That's all I know so far. Anyway, I miss you guys and love you guys so, so much! Please don't worry about me. I'll be fine. I have to be here. I'll have you all in my prayers tonight and every night.

Love Logan

  1. Oh yeah! I remember the motorcyclists.....FLIPPIN' crazy! They really do drive on the lines in between the lanes of traffic. But don't worry, he won't ever be driving so he'll be fine. I have a million awesome memories of the CTM so I'm sure once he gets a few good nights of sleep he'll feel right at home. The language is overwhelming now and it will be for a few months still, so tell him to be patient with himself. It won't be long before he's able to pick out individual words in a conversation, and then a full sentence. He'll totally get there. Love you guys and praying for Elder Skinner!
